Nigeria’s FIFA women’s referee Patience Madu has been drafted by the Confederation of African Football, CAF with 15 other referees on the continent to officiate at the upcoming Africa Women’s Nations Cup in Morocco.
AWCON 2022 will be played between 2nd July and 23rd July 2022 in the cities of Casablanca and Rabat, Morocco.
In the list CAF drafted Patience Madu as the only centre referee from Nigeria alongside officials from 15 other countries including Egypt and South Africa.
Madu who was at the Tokyo Olympics games in 2021 and served as fourth official for two games at the games has officiated big top flight games in Nigeria as well as the second division and also was at the centre for the AITEO FA Cup finals between Bayelsa United and Nasarawa United.
Madu will not be the only Nigerian official in Morocco as Mimisen Agatha was also drafted as assistant referee for the tournament but CAF.
Mimisen also joins 15 other referees from the continent to fly their countries’ flag at the continental show down.
The two referees alongside the Super Falcons will fly the green and white colours at the biggest women’s tournament in Africa.
The Super Falcons will kick start their tournament on the 4th of July against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa.
