Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) secretary-general, Dr Mohammed Sanusi has declared that seeing the female national team, Super Falcons qualify for the final of the Africa Women Cup of Nations makes him very proud.
While affirming that all Nigerians are equally proud of the Falcons’ feat at Ghana 2018, Sanusi told sports247.ng that he has nothing but praise for the players and showered encomium on the team.
Sanusi said all Nigerians must celebrate with the Falcons, following their pulsating 4-2 win on penalties over Cameroon on Tuesday night, but said they must not rest on their oars and recharge themselves up, in order to beat South Africa in Saturday’s final.
Sanusi stated: “The girls have really shown tenacity and their fighting spirit against Cameroon was highly commendable.
“I am proud of what they are doing, despite their slow start, when they lost against South Africa in their first match of the competition.
“They have done very well since, and I remain grateful that they’re making the country proud.”
