Awaziem Seeks Career Resurgence At Rizespor

New arrival at Rizespor of Turkey, Chidozie Awaziem has admitted he is in dire need of a resurgence to his career, and believes he can achieve the target with regular playing time at the Turkish Super Lig outfit.

Although many observers are of a view that Awaziem has joined a less-fancied club, whose chances of staying in the top-flight this season are in doubt, sports247.ng can report that the lad on loan from FC Porto of Portugal hopes to make the best of his stay at Rizespor.

Awaziem believes playing regularly with a small club is better than being restricted to the reserves of a big squad, especially as he aims to cement a spot in the Super Eagles’ list to this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

After dropping down the Eagles’ pecking order, despite knocking in a goal against Seychelles, in Nigeria’s first match after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Awaziem is eager to regain trust from the coach, Gernot Rohr.

The 22-year-old Awaziem, who excelled on loan at FC Nantes of France last season, now hopes to hit the ground running from the word go at Rizespor, in order to regain his place with the Eagles.

He will also have his eye of market values, as his virtual worth on making Nigeria’s squad to Russia 2018 was €6m, but he is said to have dropped to €4m, on account of recent redundancy at Porto.
