Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen has revealed snippets of the tactical plan he will use against Sudan on Saturday.
Both teams will tango in the second phase of Group D matches at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, with Nigeria top of the log from Tuesday’s 1-0 win over Egypt, while Sudan played a barren draw with Guinea Bissau.

However, while all permutations are pointing in the direction of victory for Nigeria and early qualification to the knock-out stage with a match to spare, Eguavoen admitted that they must not underrate the Sudanese.
It is that notion Eguavoen is now grounding his game plan on, as he conceded that every team that qualified for the continental soccer showpiece must be respected.
He added that the name of a country or the history they have in football should not be used to judge the results they can get from any match since it would be a performance that matters when the chips come down.
In the same vein, the former defender, captain and head coach of the team added that his players must approach Saturday’s game in Garoua with all seriousness it deserves.
Eguavoen stressed: “We are going to approach every game like it’s a final. We are going to take it game after game and see where we get.
“Every team that has come to AFCON should be respected, regardless of the name of the country.”
