KG Sports Defender Destiny Uwezukwe has attributed their 1-0 loss to host JC Raiders of Asaba on Wednesday to Inexperience.
The Academy boys who traveled all the way from Agbor to Asaba for the Friendly match gave a good account of themselves only to fall in the 86th minute when Striker Nasarawa pounced on an error from Substitute Onyebuchi Chidubem to fire past Goalkeeper Micheal Agholor.
Reacting to the Lose, Defender Destiny Uwezukwe who marshaled the Central Defense position effectively with Skipper Joseph Ukah blamed the defeat on inexperience as they wanted to win rather than to hold for a draw.
“We held them in the first half and by the second half, we were getting upper hand so we thought we could win the game rather than holding for the draw” “I think this is a good opportunity for us to learn from our mistakes, the match was a good one and helped to expose us, we will surely be back again and get a much better result ” Destiny Said.
According to the Director of KG Sports Academy, Dr. Ken Gadaffi, the Academy U21 are preparing for the Delta State League and currently on a playing tour to major Cities to acquire Experience.
“We will join the State League this year and hopefully take part in the State FA, so this match is to expose the boys to playing away from Agbor as we don’t know where we will be zoned to, They were close to earning a victory as we missed many chances to score but in the end, a defensive blunder cost us the match and we returned with a 1-0 lose. I hope it would help the boys to get stronger and prepare for the challenges ahead “Dr. Ken Gadaffi Said
