Asaba 2024: “My First Experience Will Make Me Try Harder” – Gold Medal Winner, Salome Philip

Kokowa Wrestling Gold Medal Winner, Salome Philip has recounted her experience at the 2024 Asaba National Youth Games and confessed it can only make her try harder, Sports247 reports.

Salome made her first appearance at the games in Asaba 2024 and won a gold medal in the traditional wrestling, Girls Kokowa representing Taraba State.

She defeated wrestlers from Plateau, Lagos and Abia before she outwitted her opponent from Bayelsa State to win the gold in the final.

In an exclusive chat with our correspondent after her gold winning moment , Salome said she is proud of her performance of winning the gold medal at her first ever appearance in the event and it can only make her try and train harder.

” Though I have been training for two years, this is my first appearance in the game and winning the gold medal makes me to be proud of myself . It can only make to try and train harder” said Salome.

Salome Philip who complained of body pains after the fight, thanks her coach , Bambuti Asinkiritus for coaching her well.

She also appreciates the Taraba Government and Sports Administrators in the State for providing everything needed for her to excel in the game .
