Lagos State’s female team goalkeeper, Jane Ijirigho has declared that everyone in the squad will continue working hard to ensure they win the gold medal of this year’s National Youth Games in Asaba.
Speaking against their stunning 2-0 spanking of the hosts, Delta State, in their first match at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Ijirigho disclosed that immense fighting spirit is their biggest asset.

Ijirigho added in an exciting chat with sports247 that it was a tough match, but posited that the team from Lagos could win through hard work and with God on their side.
Ijirigho added, “The match was tough. It was really tough, and I thank God that we won.
“We fought all the way, from starting till the end of the whistle; not giving up with our fighting spirit.”
As the squad now gets set to tango Benue State in a decisive match to judge who qualifies for the final, Ijirigho stressed that she already espies a place for her side in the gold medal match of the competition.
“We will go all the way, and I hope to be there. I thank God that I was also part of this game.
“Apart from the qualifiers, this is the first match, and we played against the hosts, Delta. We still have other matches to play.
“We have another match to play before we can start talking about the final. That match will determine if we will get to the final,” Ijirigho disclosed.
She concluded by celebrating her performance in the victory over Delta State and expressed optimism that she could guide her side to the gold medal.
“I was calm in the goalpost because I told myself, ‘Do what you know you can do best and let God take care of the rest.’
“For our next match, we will put in more fighting, more goals and work hard for more winning,” Ijirigho affirmed.
