Asaba 2024: “I Want To Make Borno State Proud”- Atanda Ayomide Eyes Gold in Finals of 42kg Boxing Category

Atanda Ayomide of Team Borno State has advanced to the finals in the male 42kg boxing category at the 8th National Youth Games in Asaba, following a victory over Roqeeb Adekunle of Team Oyo State.

Speaking with Sports247 in an interview after his fight, Ayomide expressed his anticipation for the upcoming final, where he looks forward to facing an opponent from Team Lagos.

“I am looking forward to fighting against Team Lagos’s opponent in the final on Wednesday.

They seem to be the toughest opponents, but I believe I will win the gold medal in my first outing at the National Youth Games “Ayomide told Sports247.

He also spoke about the influence of his role model, the boxing team captain, and his coach.

“My coach has faith in my abilities and has encouraged me so far. Winning the gold medal on Wednesday would mean so much to me and make Borno State proud.”

Ayomide’s journey to the final has been marked by determination and hard work, and he is focused on achieving victory in his debut appearance at the National Youth Games.
