Asaba 2024: “I am Happy To Train A Grassroot Athlete To Win Gold” – Bambuti Asinkiritus

Taraba State Traditional Wrestling coach, Bambuti Asinkiritus has revealed how happy and fulfilled he is after coaching one of his wrestlers to win a gold medal at the 2024 Asaba National Youth Games, Sports247 reports.

Bambuti Asinkiritus was on the touchline giving out instructions and guidance during the Kokowa traditional wrestling Girls’ event where one of his wrestlers, Salome Philip conquered all to win the gold medal in the event.

After the event, Sports247 correspondent caught up with coach Bambuti Asinkiritus in an exclusive chat and he bare his mind on how he felt seeing Salome win the gold medal

“I am very happy to have trained a grassroots athlete to win a gold medal. The feeling is fulfilling” said Bambuti.

The coach is delighted by the level of competition from the traditional young wrestlers from different states and declared, “The future of traditional wrestling is good in Nigeria ”

The coach then thanked the Taraba State government for their support during the competition and asked for early camping of the wrestlers for better performance.

“Our Government has done well. Abu Kefas is the best governor and this is the best contingent that we have been bringing. We enjoyed this youth game, they gave us everything we needed and no reason to complain. We thank the government.”

“I want the government to fund our early camping so that we can do more than what we have done now “, Coach Bambuti Asinkiritus concluded
