Achapo Kamsiyochukwu, representing Team Delta State in the singles and team scrabble events at the 8th National Youth Games, shared her experiences with Sports247.
Despite not qualifying for a medal in the singles event, where she scored 6 out of 10 points, Kamsiyochukwu remains positive about her first outing.

When asked about her feelings, she said, “Not bad since it’s my first time. I’m just getting acquainted with the whole event. So I don’t feel very bad.” She acknowledged gaining valuable experience from her participation.
Regarding the team event, Kamsiyochukwu mentioned that her team was still competing, and she is hopeful for a positive outcome. “Okay, my team is not yet through, but the one I played, I won the first game. Since it’s 2 points to win. I hope my teammate wins.”
Overall, Kamsiyochukwu is happy with her experience at the games and looks forward to participating again next year.
“Next year, I expect to participate and win a gold medal. Because going back from here, with the experience I have gotten, I am going to go back and work harder with everything I have learned.”
While awaiting the results of the team competition, her determination and optimism highlight her commitment to improving and achieving greater success in future competitions.
