A primary six pupil at Wonderland Montessori School in Abia State, Uche David has revealed that he is already targeting glory for Nigeria in table tennis at the Olympic Games.
Although he is still starry-eyed and struggles to put his words together, Uche told sports247.ng at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba that he already has a vision of what he wants to achieve in future.
For now, though, the kid with a Biblical name disclosed that his most pressing ambition is to win a gold medal or two for Abia State at the ongoing 8th National Youth Games in Asaba.
“I want to win this tournament in doubles,” Uche began, “and the singles if possible.
“I am satisfied with everything that I am seeing here. I want to do well for my state and then represent Nigeria at the Olympics when I get older.”
Towards achieving his set objective as an up-and-coming ping pong player, the ambitious lad revealed further that he has a personal training routine playing table tennis on the streets back home in Abia State.
“I train regularly in my street, and I have a good coach who is developing me. Everything is so good for me,” Uche David enthused.
