Super Falcons of Nigeria’s midfielder, Jennifer Echegini, has expressed her confidence in the team’s performance as they prepare for the second leg of their Olympic qualifier match against South Africa.
The team is carrying a 1-0 lead from the first leg, which took place at Moshood Abiola Stadium.
Reflecting on the first leg victory, Jennifer Echegini described the game as good and praised the team’s performance. “We played well. I think we still have some more games in us,” she said.
However, she acknowledged the need for the team to be more clinical in their approach. “At the end of the day, goals win games, as well as you play. But we need to score more goals, especially in their field, at their home,” she added.
Looking forward to the second leg, Jennifer Echegini expressed her confidence in the team’s ability to secure a slot for the Olympics.
“We want it really badly. And when you want things, you should go for it. And I trust in every single one of us. I trust in the coaches, I trust in the staff, I trust in the players. So why not? As long as you get the job done, no one can stop us,” she said.
With the team’s confidence and trust in each other, fans are optimistic that the Super Falcons will deliver a performance that will see them through to Paris. As the team prepares for the crucial match, they remain hopeful of securing their place in the Olympics.
