It has been a battle royale in Algeria as the finest Table Tennis stars in the continent of Africa converge to do thier individual nations proud.
Africa’s highest ranked Table Tennis Player, Aruna Quadri has reclaimed the men’s singles African Table Tennis title. The Nigerian and African number one beat his arch-rival, Omar Assar of Egypt in a third conservative finals in the men single event of Africa Senior Table Tennis Championship, Algeria 2022. Aruna had lost the previous two before becoming victorious in this campaign.
It was an epic 2-0 comeback for Quadri to clinch the title with a 4-3 win over the star from the land of the pharaohs. The Nigerian dug dip to turn things around and finally returned to the top of African Table Tennis with a superb win. This is his second African title for the world number 15 after bagging his first in 2018.
Confronting a ravaging Egyptian was a very difficult task as the Northern Africans dominated the table tennis competition. Egypt dominated the women’s singles and double events. They as well took over the team events leaving Quadri only with the men’s single.
