Most of the players selected years back have stood up the task and have justified their selection, Adeyi Tobi has become a key player in the heart of Crown FC midfield, he at a time went as far as playing for Kwara United in the Premier league, play with Warri wolves at some point was even named Captain, Fabode Olaitan was a worthy Ambassador, he recently moved to Shooting stars and at some point invited into the National Under 20 team to both AFCON and the World Cup, Adekunle Majeed is another name in the mouth of most football loving fans in the city, he was part of the team that almost nick a promotion ticket last season. Other players include Tunde Alebiosu, Oyetunde Olalekan and of course the captain of the side Adejare Adeniyi.
One of the strong hold of Crown FC of Ogbomoso is their defense, they have built a solid defense line in recent years, the partnership of Ugochukwu and Oshomo has been so fantastic for Crown FC of Ogbomoso. With Oshomo recent departure to Akwa United, it’s time again for Crown FC of Ogbomoso to look inward as they always do. Who is Aremu Segun?
Segun is one of the best defender in Ogbomoso and in the state at large if not the best. Aremu Segun a 20 years old Defender who was born in Ogbomoso played his grassroots football with Galaxy FC Ogbomoso.
The Rock as he is fondly called by his fans is the Captain of Galaxy FC, Aremu Segun a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomoso played for Lautech School team from his 100 Level days till he graduated last year. He participated in 2018/19 institutions football league with Lautech, He captained the same side to 2021/2022 Higher institutions Football league. He was the first Captain of any institution football team in the whole of Oyo State to win the Maiden Edition of Oyo State Higher Institutions Competition.
Aremu Segun a 6ft2in tall defender as been an intergal part of Ogbomoso United FC, Segun was part of the team that came second in 2020 Olubadan Cup, he was a strong man in the heart of the defence for Ogbomoso United during 2021 NLO 2 playoffs infact he played all 90mins of all the 8 games to the final where United narrow lost to Fehinty Osogbo. In 2022 he was also part of the team with Ogbomoso United in the NLO 1 league, where he scored 3 goals for United as a Defender. In 2023 he was named the team Captain and played all the games during the 2023 NLO 1 playoffs in Ibadan. He was named among the best player at the Ibadan center of the league and was unanimously named the best player of Ogbomoso United in 2023.
Segun was also part of the team that won the 2020 Minister Cup for Ogbomoso where he also played all matches from Group stages to the final.
As a Defender and captain of Galaxy FC, Segun has lifted numerous trophies and have help Galaxy FC cemented their name as one of the best team in State and it’s environ.
Aremu is good at set pieces, he is good on the Air, he is a good ball timer and a good goal scorer. Segun is easy going and kind to all which make him been listed as one of the humble and disciplinary player in town.
