Archery Africa President Tarik Amiry Overlooks Crisis, Rates Nigeria’s Potential High In Fast Growing Sport Of Arrows

The president of World Archery Africa, Tarik Amiry has overlooked crisis rocking Nigeria’s governing body and rated the country’s potential high in the sport of bows and arrows, Sports247 reports.

Although the Nigerian archery scene appeared to be in turmoil when the country’s governing body’s recent general assembly ended in chaos, Amiry enthused that the ancient sport is heading in the right direction across the nation.

He also assured Nigerian archery officials of total support from fellow-affiliated federations in Africa and the global sanctioning body, as they aim to use the country’s huge population in shoring up more support for the sport across various frontiers.

“We are looking forward to having a better team in Nigeria for the future. They’ve already started, and we are working hard to get it right. We are working to get a better growth because Nigeria has a big population, and we are expecting to have good action here in the coming years,” Amiry projected.

His enthusiasm came a few hours after Nigerian archery was thrown into fresh turmoil, when delegates from eight out of ten affiliated states were shut out of the general assembly in Abuja, but no official reaction has come from any international organ or Nigeria’s National Sports Commission (NSC).
