As Ghana’s World Cup playoff first leg against the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been provisionally moved to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, the approval is just a one-off and there are certain conditions to be met before the match. The Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) has reacted to the development.
The game was originally scheduled to hold at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium next week Friday but due to the poor state of the pitch, the game has been relocated.
The President of the foremost Supporters club on the land, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi in his reaction said his group is ready to travel anywhere to cheer the Super Eagles to victory.
He said “It’s a very crucial game and we are quite aware of how instrumental we will be to the boys, though I don’t know how true it is, even if the game will no longer hold in Ghana, anywhere the Super Eagles fly to, we will go”
“Ghana is closer and it would save us a lot, we will like the game to go ahead, but if CAF is moving the game because of the pitch, then we are ready to go anywhere with our darling Super Eagles”
The ANFASSC number one man concluded by saying the trip would eventually be worth at the end of the day, once the ticket to Qatar is sealed, he added that the celebration will overshadow the stress and cost of traveling eventually.
