Despite being part of the ‘Riyadh season,’ this bout is not taking place in Saudi Arabia, unlike several recent high-profile boxing events.

Instead, it’s a home fight for both Joshua and Dubois, who were born within a few miles of Wembley Stadium.

A crowd of around 96,000 is expected to attend, making it a landmark event for British boxing.

Anthony Joshua, the London 2012 super-heavyweight champion, is no stranger to Wembley Stadium.

This will be his fifth fight under the famous stadium arch, where he previously defeated Wladimir Klitschko in one of the highlights of his career.

Now 34, Joshua aims to reclaim his status as a world champion in his 13th world title bout.

His previous heavyweight belts were lost to fellow Olympic gold medallist Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

Usyk, who subsequently beat Dubois in Poland, vacated the IBF title, setting the stage for Joshua’s comeback.

Londoner Daniel Dubois, known as ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Triple D,’ holds the IBF world title recently vacated by Usyk. At 27, this will be Dubois’ first defense of the belt.

He earned the IBF’s interim crown in his last bout against Filip Hrgovic and was upgraded to world titleholder in June.

This opportunity arose when Usyk decided to fight Tyson Fury for a second time, rather than Dubois, who was the mandatory challenger for the belt.

This all-British clash is not only about national pride but also about the journey of redemption and the rise of new champions.

Joshua is determined to reclaim his former glory, while Dubois is set on proving himself as a worthy champion.

The event promises to be a thrilling night of boxing, with both fighters bringing their best to the ring.

Oleksandr Usyk, the former holder of the IBF title, addressed both fighters on social media, saying: “Anthony and Daniel, listen. I know the IBF title is important to you. It is my present to you on September 21.”

This message adds an extra layer of intrigue to the bout, underlining the significance of the title on the line.

With a stellar undercard and the main event featuring two of Britain’s top heavyweight boxers, the night is set to be a memorable one for boxing fans worldwide.

All matches will be streamed live on FIFA+, allowing a global audience to witness the action unfold.

As the countdown to the fight continues, anticipation builds for what promises to be an unforgettable night at Wembley Stadium.
