With the country currently in near-lockdown due to the spread of COVID-19, the world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua admitted he wanted to show his gratitude towards all workers helping those affected across the country.
His series of tweets comes a day after an official spokesman for the boxer said AJ was ‘fit and healthy’ despite coming into contact with Prince Charles only a couple of weeks before the heir to the throne tested positive for the virus.
Joshua is following government guidelines regarding self-isolation and showed his thanks to NHS workers by saying: ‘We see you, we appreciate you, we thank you and we’re in awe of you!’
He continued: ‘In this time, I want to use my platform to do something positive so if there’s anything on my channels that I can share with you to connect people locally and globally, then drop a comment below and we’ll see what we can do.’
Following this, a number of people got in touch with the 30-year-old and Joshua showed his appreciation.
To one user, @KatieGxox, he said: ‘Just wanted to say a massive thank you for everything you’re doing.
