Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Chukwuemeka Okeke on Tuesday tendered his resignation to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) two months after his appointment.
Dr. Okeke led six-member Caretaker Committee was inaugurated by the NFF on the 6th of August, 2020 to oversee the administration of football in the state for three months and put modalities in place towards conducting an election into the board of the ANSFA. Other members of the caretaker committee include Sir Victor Nwangwu as the Vice Chairman, High Chief Philip Udala, Mrs. Charity Ebere Okonkwo, Mrs. Onyeabo Success, and Mr. Chijioke Onyedika as Secretary.
Notable amongst the achievements of Dr. Okeke and his team was the movement of the FA house from Aroma to a Duplex in Udoka Housing Estate; the introduction of Beach Soccer; the first-ever meeting of the ANSFA with club owners in the state; club owners health insurance enrollment; allocation of offices to club owners, SWAN, referees, players and coaches associations; donation of two new branded 14-seater buses and the introduction of ‘My Anambra Football Campaign’.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Committee of the ANSFA also on Tuesday elected Rev. Fr. Coach Obinna Dike as the Chairman of the body after the resignation of top football administrator Jude Anyadufu. Rev. Fr. Dike, a seasoned football administrator, hitherto was the Vice Chairman of the Electoral Committee and currently the Chairman of the vibrant grassroots football model in the state, the Anambra Independent Football League (AIFL).
