Anikoh Urges More Corporate Support Ahead Of 3rd Lekki Scrabble Classics

As preparations intensify for the 3rd edition of the Lekki Scrabble Classics, tournament organizers are calling for increased corporate backing to elevate the championship, already regarded as one of the best-organized scrabble events by a club in Nigeria.

Building on the success of previous editions, the tournament has attracted significant goodwill and secured backing from several prominent brands. Among these is Loense International, an engineering and construction firm in the oil and gas sector, which has returned as a key sponsor for this year’s event.

The marine logistics company has consistently supported scrabble in Nigeria, reinforcing its commitment to promoting the mind sport.

Another loyal supporter, Frontpage Couture (FPC), an apparel firm renowned for quality designs, will once again lend its presence to the Classics. FPC has been a consistent partner, helping enhance the visibility and appeal of the game through its contributions.

Midas Farms is also on board, providing additional backing alongside other notable sponsors, including Mindgames Incorporated, which has been instrumental in growing the sport with innovative tournaments worldwide, and Elcrest E & P, another player in the oil and gas sector.

Samuel Anikoh, President of Lekki Scrabble Club, emphasized that the goal is to create an attractive platform for corporate engagement while making the championship a standout event with global appeal. However, he stressed the need for more sponsors to realize this vision.

“While we appreciate the efforts of organizations like Loense International Ltd, Boaz Integrated & Allied Services, Frontpage Couture, Midas Farms, Mindgames Incorporated, and Elcrest E & P, there is still room for more corporate involvement,” Anikoh stated. “This game offers immense benefits, from improving language skills to enhancing critical thinking and fostering social connections. We encourage more companies to invest in this worthy cause.”

The 3rd Lekki Scrabble Classics is scheduled for September 28-29, 2024.
