The Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) has officially unveiled its “Renewed Hope Countdown” campaign to rally widespread support for Nigeria’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking on the initiative, ANFASSC National President, Abayomi Ogunjimi, emphasized the need for a strategic and united approach from all stakeholders, including the supporters club, to ensure the Super Eagles reclaim their position as a dominant force in the qualifiers.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has always demonstrated an unwavering belief in a better Nigeria. His transformative impact on the sports sector is evident despite current challenges,” Ogunjimi stated.
He expressed confidence in the efforts of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), bolstered by the expertise of Mallam Shehu Dikko and Honourable Bukola Olopade at the National Sports Commission.
“With the President’s support and the quality of leadership in the NSC, securing the World Cup ticket is achievable,” he said.
The campaign, Ogunjimi explained, aims to unite supporters worldwide, fostering optimism and confidence as the Super Eagles gear up for their remaining six qualifying matches, starting with a crucial game against Rwanda in Kigali.
With a well-thought-out strategy and the leadership of Eric Chelle, Ogunjimi remains optimistic that the Super Eagles can secure victories in all six games to secure their place in the 2026 World Cup.
