Tanzania’s national team coach, Emmanuel Amuneke has declared that his prayer for the country where he now plies his trade is that next year will be bigger and better for them than 2018 has been.
Sports247.ng can report that the former Super Eagles winger and 1994 African Footballer of The Year is counting the gains of his first phase with The Taifa Stars and is looking forward to greater things to come in 2019.
Amuneke said he is grateful to God for making 2018 glorious for him, and is now looking forward to a better year, with qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as his main priority.
The coach of Nigeria’s winning Golden Eaglets’ squad at Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup said he will work on his pitfalls and ensure he perfects them in 2019.
Amuneke said: “it’s been an eventful 2018. I have learned a lot experience wise and otherwise.
“After losing the under-20 team job in Nigeria, I moved to Sudan and coached in the premier league there for a while.
“Then I joined the FIFA technical study group for the World Cup in Russia and after then Tanzania came calling.
“Overall, I want to thank God for his grace so far. Hopefully, next year will be bigger for us.”
