It was a moment of joy for the players of Amsterdam Fooball Club of Obalende following 4-1 victory over Lekki Junior Striker in the final of Lagos Divisional Football Association which held on Friday at the Elegbata sports centre, Apogbon, Lagos Island.
Amsterdam gave good account of themselves as Ojo Azeez scored hat-trick to emerge as the most valuable player in the pulsating final.
Both teams ended the first half one goal apiece but the second half was a different ball game as Amsterdam made some changes which earned them a total victory over their opponents.
Lekkii Junior Striker coach, Ogundowo Seun blamed his players for playing out of instructions. He said his opponents were not the best but noted that his players failed to listen to simple instructions.
“I am disappointed with the result because my players disobeyed what I asked them to do on the field of play. We lost the game by ourselves so I congratulate our opponents for their victory but I must confess that they are not better than us,” he said.
In his own comment, Chairman Lagos Divisional Football Association, Tunde Tinubu was full of praises that the tourney recorded huge success. He said the standard of play by the teams is superb and congratulated the winners for the job well done
