Amsterdam Football Club would slug it out against Lekki Junior Striker in the final of Lagos Divisional Football Association scheduled to hold on Friday at the Elegbata sports centre, Apogbon, Lagos Island.
To reach the final stage,Amsterdm beat King FC 5-4 on penalty shootout after one goal apiece at the regulation time. In the second semi final, Lekki Junior Striker also beat Blue Liners 5-4 on penalty after 1-1 in the full time.
Speaking ahead of the final, chairman Lagos Divisional Football Association, Tunde Tinubu said the division is fully ready to host successful final and urged the finalists to play the game according to the rules and regulation.
He explained that the divisional league has been progressive and competitive compared to the previous editions. He said most of the teams in the league gave good account of themselves and congratulated the two finalists for the job well done.
“It has been a tough league considering the teams participated in our league. I must confess that all the teams really did well in term of performance. Our officiating was quite impressive so I can say the league was a huge success. I wish the two teams best of luck as they are preparing for the final on Friday,” he said.
