Nigeria Amputee Football Federation president, Suleiman Isah has come out to confirm that the national team, Special Eagles received a cash gift of N6.5m.
He told sports247.ng that the amount was donated to the Amputee World Cup-bound team received the money last week, as part of their fund raising drive for their trip to Mexico 2019.
Isah affirmed: “The money was given to us as a donation from members of the Super Eagles for us to prepare for the Amputee Football World Cup this month in Mexico.
“We appreciate the efforts of all the players and we thank them for doing this for us.
“It is their own contribution to helping us attend this year’s edition of the Amputee Football World Cup.
“We could not attend the last three editions, even after being officially invited. That was because we could not raised the necessary funds to make the trip.
“If we do not go this time around, they will not invite us again, that’s why we are reaching out for support from all football loving Nigerians, and we appreciate those who have helped us this far.”
