Another shower of accolades is flowing for Nigeria Amputee Football Federation (NAFF), following their spirited efforts to uplift physically challenged youths with various marketing ideas.

This comes in the wake of NAFF’s official launch of a kit supplies store in Surulere, Lagos, and their implementation of a new fund raising drive for the amputee football national team, Special Eagles.
NAFF’s strategy, tagged Raise An Eagle, is to generate funds for their team through specialized sales of the squad’s official jersey and other kit at the shop.
They also aim to raise more funds through bulk purchases by corporate bodies and philanthropists, who will be expected to buy the kit above the market price.
The unprecedented strategy has let off bolts of excitement in the veins of former international football star, Chief Patrick Segun Odegbami (MON), who hailed NAFF for what he termed their historic efforts at promoting Nigeria’s image through the brand of an eagle.
He pointed out that the eagle continues to represent Nigeria’s image in a very symbolic dimension on the nation’s coat of arms and commended NAFF for deeming it fit to key into that symbol.
The former ace winger, who was fondly called ‘Mathematical Seven’ in his heyday, added that NAFF’s latest public awareness campaign is a very creative venture that will leave positive impacts on various aspects of life in Nigeria.
He then urged Nigerians from all walks of life to key into NAFF’s ideals and funds drive, with a verdict that all hands must be on deck to ensure the national team of physically challenged players makes it to the African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) and return home with the trophy.
The member of Nigeria’s winning team at the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil also hailed NAFF’s array of ambitious projects, which includes owning their own stadium and installing facilities for people with disability, with a verdict that the body led by Paul Maduakor is doing a great job.
Odegbami stressed, “That’s fantastic. They reflect the Nigerian dream. The Nigeria of our dream is for us to be the greatest country in the world. We are still far from it, but that’s where we are heading.
“If you look at our national emblem, you will find the eagle perched there. It means Nigeria should always be on top of others. It is a dream that is being captured by NAFF through the Special Eagles. By the special grace of God, the universe is hearing us, we shall accomplish it.
“So, I bless this shop, I bless the jerseys, and I bless the brand called Special Eagles. People must patronise and support this brand. That’s what makes sense.
“We have players. We have a team, but we need people to support them; so that they can really fly and fly high. I wish I had the resources, I would just take the first responsibility myself.”
