Return leg match between Owerri Fitness Club of Imo State and Island Allstars Sports Club of Lagos; 23/8/23.
First Leg in Lagos ended in a hard fought 2-1 victory in favour of Island Allstars same time last year.
For the Island Allstars Technical Adviser and Nigerian Super Eagles Ex-international, Raphael Chukwu Ndukwe, for him – “it’s a home coming match of revenge or consolidation and bragging right”. For that reason, “we are temporarily relocating the entire structure and membership of the club to Owerri to leak our Owerri brothers back to back, and thereafter leak Ofe-Owerri in Owerri”
The match was also intentionally scheduled to coincide with the funeral events of three of it’s members’ late parents, running between the 24th of August and 1st of September. In words of the Island Allstars President, Ikenna Maduagwu, “after all said and done, we can’t come kee ourselves, hence it will also be a responsible get away opportunity to let off steam from the hustle and bustle of Lagos.
