The stage is now set for the one day Zaria Athletics Grand Prix at the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria sport complex pitch.
One of the organizers and sponsors of the meet Alh Ibrahim gusau said the Grand Prix in Zaria has come to stay, according to him, the meet on the 2nd of July will be used to prepare athletes from all over Nigeria for the National trials coming up in Benin on the 5th of July and world championship in Budapest from the 19th of August to 27th of August.
The meet Director, Sunday Adeleye said just like the Zaria Prix in March, great performance is expected from the athlete, in his words, “their exposure and Continuous nurturing will help the nation to do better than its 18th position in the last world Athletics championship in Oregon”
The last Zaria Prix saw great performances from young athletes like Hajara Haruna, Ayenuro Taiye, Salisu Ibrahim, Oche Emmanuel, ogazi Samuel, Oshiokpu Grace.
