Benin City, the Edo state capital will agog come May 14th to 23rd as the maiden Kators cup tournament 2021 takes centre stage.
The week-long soccer event for the open category will be for young players of some selected youth clubs in Edo state.
According to the tournament Director Chris Ekhator, only eight teams will contest this edition as the scope will be expanded from 2022, With about five recognised football scouts from Sweden, Turkey, Italy, France and Spain in attendance to fish out talented players for greener pastures.
” this maiden edition of the kators cup is for open category among Eight selected teams in Edo state, but we advise that the teams present young talented players during the event, the next edition will cover Delta state with more teams competing.
” Am also bringing in recognized football scouts from Europe to identify some talents and take them out, I have no doubt a lot of talented players will be discovered, he stated
The tournament which is now talk of the town in Benin city will have Bj foundation FC, Rolly FC, Isaac success football Academy, Efe-urhocity Academy, Dinamo Academicals, Rockers FC, shooting Arrow FC and Guonadia FC taking part in the one-week soccer carnival sponsored by united states of America based football Administrator, Chris Ekhator.
The top three teams of the kators cup will get medals, individual awards and cash during the final of the event slated for Western boys high school community stadium in Benin city.
” I just want to give back to the society through football, and I have cash prizes for the first three teams, medals, and gift items for individual awards during the closing day of the tournament.
“We have a lot of plans to take football to the next level in Nigeria, all we need is the enabling environment, the people and Government support Ekhator posited.
The kators cup 2021 has the backing of the Edo state football Association.
