Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) President, Hon. Daniel Igali has advised the country to prepare early for the All African games, to ensure that the wrestlers do Nigeria proud.
Igali also confidently stated that wrestling can deliver 10 gold medals for Team Nigeria at the Games.
“We must start preparing right away, from what I did see at the African Championships, the females have the capacity to win between seven and eight gold medals,” Igali stated.
“If we prepare from now, I can almost guarantee that we will win about seven and eight gold medals with the women alone.
“I also see the possibility of winning about four gold medals in the men, that takes us to over 10 gold medals which is about our target for this Games.”
The Nigeria Wrestling team at the 2015 All-Africa Games in Congo won a total of 19 medals – nine gold, five silver, and five bronze.
