Alimosho League: Defending Champions Surrender Three Points To H2U

The defending champions, Samjason Football Club started their 2020_2021 Alimosho Football Coaches Council League campaign on a shaky note following 2-2 draw played with home team, H2U football club at the Alade Sports complex, Ipaja, Command, Lagos.

The opening match which held yesterday saw more than hundred football fans across Lagos to witness the week one as both teams entertained their fans with football artistry.

Having played barren draw in the first half, the second half witnessed spectacular performance from the both side as home team drew the first blood through Alayande Olufemi. The goal spurred the away team to put pressure on their opponents and their effort was rewarded when Ekene Amangbo quickly converted penalty kick to me it one goal apiece.

Kelechi Emmanuel scored the second goal for defending champions in the 76th minutes to put the home team in big trouble.

The home team who gave a good account of themselves snatched late equalizer when Gabriel Abiodun scored at the close range in the 83th minutes to bring the encounter to 2-2 draw at the regulation time.

Samjason coach, Mathias Enebili said the match was tough and thanked God that they got a point against their opponents.

Kereh Wisdom who adjudged Man of the match said he was a little bit disappointed that his team failed to win their first home match and promised that they would go out for victory in their next match.

Leader of Alimosho Football Coaches Council, Ifeanyichukwu Ikpo Moses expressed satisfaction with the organization, officiating and standard of play by both teams. He said Alimosho league has come to stay urging the corporate bodies and sport philanthropists in Alimosho and Lagos environs to lend their support in area of sponsorship and partnership with the organizers so as to make the league better.

Action resume on Tuesday when Kedge Sports FC would be at home against Bucknor FC, NISSI FC would welcome IGU FC next Thursday, while Newtown G would travel to face Flying Wings next Thursday as Leyenda SFC would be at home against ECAS FC next Friday.
