Preparations for the first edition of the WNFF/Taiwo Ogunjobi Memorial U-15 football competition received a boost earlier today when the chairman of the Katsina State Football Association Alh. Aminu Kurfi Balele (Dan Arewa) made a handsome donation of two million naira to the hosting of the competition.
Alhaji Balele commended the initiative as one that intensifies efforts at promoting the game at the grassroots level, while concurrently honouring the life and contributions of the late Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi to football in Nigeria.
Apparently excited with the preparation for the age grade tournament, he made the donations on behalf of a group of FA chairmen, promising more support for the success of the inaugural edition.
“We will all participate morally and financially to assist for the successful hosting of the competition”, Dan Arewa enthused.
