Gombe United defender Toyin Alege has congratulated the management and players of Kwara United for their return to Nigeria’s topflight.
Kwara United recently made a return to the NPFL after acquiring the slot of Delta Force thanks to the number one citizens in the state Governor Abdulrahman who signed the proposal.
Alege who was among the Gombe United squad that lost 1-0 against Kwara United in first game of the NNL season however expressed how glad he is for Kwara United to have returned to the NPFL.
He’s also optimistic that the Harmony Boys can qualify for the CAF Champions League this season if the players can continue with their impressive performance so far.
“I am happy for Kwara United because I’m also from Kwara and I must celebrate with my state for this progress.
“Kudos must be given to those who masterminded the process of Kwara United returning to NPFL, and I want to wish them well throughout the season,” Alege explained.
The former Wikki Tourists’ agile center back also made it clear that Gombe United will pick the promotion ticket since their main challengers Kwara United have left the NNL.
“I can tell you with confident that we will be the ones to qualify from our group since Kwara United have gone to the NPFL, and by God’s grace, we will all be playing in the NPFL next season,” Alege explained.
Kwara United on Sunday, December 1, produced superb performance in Lafia where they recorded a 1-0 win over troubled Nasarawa United.
The victory sent Kwara United to 13th position on the NPFL standings which will boost their morale ahead of their next game against Kano Pillars at the Sani Abacha stadium, Kofarmata.
