His 81st-minute strike proved crucial, helping Elkanemi Warriors secure a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Shooting Stars of Ibadan.

Elkanemi Warriors, under the guidance of Coach Aliyu Zubairu, found themselves trailing by two goals early in the match. However, they showed resilience, fighting back to level the score, with Alabi playing a pivotal role in their comeback.

His performance was widely applauded, as his late goal salvaged a crucial point for the Maiduguri-based side.

Speaking after the match, Alabi expressed his excitement about his milestone achievement.

“I am very happy to have scored an important goal for my team. It’s a dream come true,” he said.

The young midfielder, who was part of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles squad that won the WAFU-B Championship last October, emphasized his commitment to the team’s success.

“My main goal is to continue helping the team alongside my teammates. I believe we will finish stronger at the end of the season,” he added.

This season marks Alabi’s debut in the NPFL, but he is no stranger to success. He was a key member of the Elkanemi Warriors squad that earned promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) and also lifted the Nigerian FA Cup (President Federation Cup) last season.

With performances like this, Alabi is proving to be a valuable asset for Elkanemi Warriors as they strive for a strong finish in the league.
