Sudanese football giants Al Merrikh SC have officially parted ways with Nigerian goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke by mutual agreement.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper joined Al Merrikh at the start of the current season from Nigerian club Enyimba FC, where he played a vital role in their Nigeria Premier Football League title triumph.
Olorunleke, a former Akwa United goalkeeper, signed a two-year contract with the Sudanese side but his tenure has been cut short after less than a season.
The reason for the termination remains undisclosed, but reports indicate the club is actively seeking a replacement, with a Tunisian goalkeeper reportedly being lined up.
Before his stint with Enyimba, Olorunleke had played for Giwa FC, Sunshine Stars, Abia Warriors, and Akwa United, earning a reputation as one of Nigeria’s top goalkeepers. His departure from Al Merrikh marks another chapter in a career filled with significant achievements and challenges.
Al Merrikh SC has not yet issued a statement on who will fill the void in their squad as they aim to strengthen their roster for the remainder of the season.
