Al Kholood Signs Nigerian Teenager Ambrose Ochigbo on Loan from ES Zarzis

Saudi Pro League club Al Kholood has secured the services of Nigerian youngster Ambrose Ochigbo on a season-long loan from Tunisian side ES Zarzis.

The deal, which includes a €96,000 loan fee, also grants Al Kholood the option to make the move permanent. Ochigbo, 19, remains under contract with Zarzis until June 2026.

The talented midfielder has already linked up with his new teammates and trained alongside Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong.

Troost-Ekong, who was recently named the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Most Valuable Player, warmly welcomed Ochigbo and shared a photo with him on social media, writing: “Welcome Ambrose Ochigbo to @AlkholoodClub. Exciting young Nigerian talent, the hard work starts now my boy.”

Ochigbo has shown significant promise in his career so far. After rising through the ranks at the ES Zarzis academy, he broke into the senior team for the 2024/25 season, making 15 league appearances.

During that time, he scored once, provided an assist, and played a key role in helping Zarzis secure a fourth-place finish in the Tunisian Ligue I Pro.

The young midfielder is expected to make his debut for Al Kholood this weekend in a crucial Saudi Pro League clash against Al-Ittihad on matchday 18.
