Grassroot football has seen some impressive developments over the years with private league being developed and teams taking the opportunity to show their talents and much of it was on display when veteran football agent Kuja Nwankwo visited one of the venues to see the game.
“The best greater tomorrow is here and I enjoyed myself. The first game I saw here was wonderful and I don’t think any NFPL side, be it Akwa United, Enyimba or even Kano Pillars cannot play what I saw. The players were very skillful, passed the ball well in a replica of what is seen in Europe and I won’t miss the next match day,” Kuja told Sports247.
Kuja Nwankwo who has had a hand in ensuring the smooth move and transition of local players to Europe over the years and is the CEO of “Pick to glory” further explained the quality of the players in the championship.
“In the first game I saw a Kanu in the making, a central defender in the form of Uche Okechukwu and I’m coming to see more,” he said. “I don’t know why people neglect the youth football. The life of Nigerian football is in the hands of the youths,” he concluded.
