AKWA STARLETS GO SPIRITUAL, SEEK DIVINE DIRECTION AHEAD NEW NNL SEASON

NNL campaigners Akwa Starlets Football Club, on Sunday, sought divine direction ahead of the upcoming 2018/19 season as they attended a special thanksgiving service held at The Apostolic Church, Afaha Assembly, Uyo, sports247.ng gathers.

 

 

The service, which was attended by players, officials and management staffers of the club, featured a special prayer and thanksgiving session, Stephen Edidiong informs sports247.ng

In his remarks, the Chairman of Akwa Starlets FC, Coach Aniedi Dickson, said it was important to commit the new NNL season into God’s hands in line with biblical tenets and prayed for divine direction to a successful season.

In attendance were, the member for Onna State Constituency at the House of Assembly, Otuekong Nse Essien, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Sports, Elder Paul Bassey, the Organizing Secretary of the State Chapter of PDP, Honourable Saturday Akpan while the Chairman of Football Referees’ Association, Elder Joseph Bassey was also in attendance.

Highlights of the event were the offering of special prayers by the hierarchy of the church, cash donations and a sumptuous reception which followed afterwards.

Akwa Starlets who have been drawn into Group B2 of the NNL alongside Jossy FC, 36-Lions FC, Stationery Stores, De Sapele Lions and J’Atete FC will begin their campaign at home to Jossy FC on Wednesday, April 10.
