Players and officials of Dakkada Football Club have been charged to keep up their impressive performance in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Akwa Ibom State Chapter Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Comrade Emmanuel Akpan, gave the charge when he visited the team during their training session at the Practice Pitch of Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Thursday.
Addressing a gathering which comprised players and officials of the club, the state SWAN boss urged the team not to be discouraged by recent poor results describing it as an aberration to an already impressive season for the Uyo-based side.
While pledging his commitment and that of his members to an effectual reportage of the team’s activities, Mr. Akpan also used the occasion to wish the team success in their Saturday’s home outing against Kwara United.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Dakkada FC, Coach Aniedi Dickson, said he was delighted at the visit of the SWAN Chairman and thanked him for identifying with the team.
He said “it was always going to be difficult to succeed in the business of football without the media…”, “I therefore pledge my readiness to work hand-in-hand with you and all your members throughout the season”.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of refreshment items to the team by the SWAN boss.
Dakkada Int’l FC will this Saturday take on Kwara United in a Match Day Twenty-One fixture of the NPFL at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, by four o’clock in the afternoon.
