Organizers of the ongoing U-15 Boys & Girls Bola Akindele football competition have expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of spectators who came to watch the opening match of the ongoing U-15 Boys & Girls Bola Akindele football competition taking place at Ojoniyu sports center, Ebute- Metta, Lagos.
The ongoing tournament is being organized by Lagos State Grassroots Football Association and sponsored by Managing Director of Courteville Business Solutions PLC, Dr. Adebola Ismail Akindele.
Taofeek Ganiu, the match coordinator said the competition has attracted a lot of football fans noted that all the participating teams have football pedigree in Lagos. He said all the matches played so far have lived up to expectations in terms of officiating, organization, and standard of play by participating teams.
“The competition has attracted football fans from various communities in Ebute- Metta and I think it shows that people key into grassroots football competition. Why I am so happy is that many of the spectators observe Covid-19 protocols without telling them,” he said.
In the matches played so far, Catch Them Young defeated Flying Stars 4-3, Gbagada United lost 1-2 to Greater Tomorrow, Kudus FC humbled Zamalek 3-2, while Atiku FC thrashed Sandra FC 2-0.
In the female category, Supra Girls walloped Peak Girls; Labro Queens lost 0-1 to Leo Side Queens. The action continues tomorrow as Highland Girls face Ashade Girls as Lambo Girls battle Buffalo Girls in the second match. In the male category, Double Stars FC face Labro FC
