The final of the U-15 boys and girls Bola Akindele football tournament would hold on 24, July, Sunday at the Campos sports center, Lagos Island.
In the boy’s category final, Soccer City of Agege would battle Greater Tomorrow of Ijesha, while Adu Queens of Lagos Island tackle Golden Girls of Alimosho in the female category.
In the third place matches decided during the week at the Ojoniyu sports center, Ebute Metta, Invisible beat Starlet FC 3-1, while St Jude girls walloped Mouka girls 2-1 in the female category.
The competition which kicked off some weeks ago is being sponsored by Dr. Adebola Ismail Akindele, the managing director of Courteville Business Solution.
Match coordinator, Taofeek Ajibola expressed gratitude to God for the hitch-free tourney. He said there was no emergency or major injury from any player suffered throughout the competition saying that all the teams played according to the rules of the tournament.
” This year’s edition recorded tremendous achievements in the area of organization, officiating, and standard of play by the participating teams. I must say that we did not record any major accidents during or after the match. This is to tell you that the organizers selected the teams based on discipline,” he said.
Ajibola also thanked the cup donor, Dr. Akindele for his contribution toward football development in the state and urged other sports philanthropists, and corporate bodies to show interest in the youth and football development in the state.
