Al-Ahly of Egypt striker, Junior Oluwafemi Ajayi is set to return to top form and finally settle down to a busy season, as he aims to justify a new contract he signed with the club.
Sports247.ng gathered that Ajayi has found his time restricted with the Cairo-based club a lot this season due to injury, but the officials still deemed him worthy of a contract extension, which the former youth international now wants to justify.
In his effort to show appreciation to Ahly’s top brass for keeping faith in him, the former 36 Lion FC of Lagos and Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan attacker made himself available for action on Wednesday.
The youngster saw it as a huge chance of justifying his extended contract with the club, as he joined the team for their Egyptian Premier League fixture against El Dakhleya.
The match came after a three month lay off for Ajayi, who has scored 24 goals in 80 games for Al Ahly, who are seeking a return to the domestic and continental heights of glory this year.
It was also barely 48 hours after Ajayi put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him in Cairo till 2022 and the youngster, who joined Ahly from CS Sfaxien of Tunisia for $2m in 2016, went in for his ninth game of the season, with high hopes of starting a fresh chapter of glory.
