Reigning Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) champions, Rivers United will face Police Crime Buster F.C of Port Harcourt in the final of the 2022 Rivers State AITEO Cup on Wednesday.
15 teams began this year’s edition of the prestigious annual AITEO tournament, but men have been separated from boys after several rounds of matches.
The final match between the two state giants will take place at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium tomorrow, 16th of theirJuly, 2022 by 3pm.
Sharks football Stadium has been the traditional host of the AITEO Cup finals but the venue was changed to Adokiye by the organisers without stating any reasons, the move was condemned by Head coach of Police Crime Busters FC of Port Harcourt, ASP Douye Ghomorai.
“We are not happy over the change of the venue because our fans may not be there to cheer their team to victory.
This is not fair to us because it is not going to be easy for our supporters and fans” ASP Ghomorai said.
He then proceeded to urge the State FA to backtrack on their decision, stating that fans should be considered first.
“We are going to play the game but I am appealing because we want a situation where we will have more people to watch the game.”
