The stakes have risen in the ongoing 2022 Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup as this year’s tournament has seen two match days gone by.
It was goals galore on the opening day as four wins and 14 goals were recorded from the four fixtures for the day.
Adazi-Ani based Aspire F.C thrashed Uncle Ralph FC of
Mgbakwu six goals to nil to record the biggest win of the tournament so far. Nkpor’s Future Hope F.C were shown no mercy as they lost 3-0 to Peace F.C of Awka while Dosad F.C of Enugwu Ukwu recorded a 2-0 victory over Ozalla FA of Onitsha.
Match day 1 ended with a local derby as two Onitsha based clubs, Global FC and Fortune FC clashed. Global FC will be the ones with the bragging rights however as they zoomed past their rivals with three unreplied goals.
Match day 2 saw 10 goals and three wins from four fixtures with one of the games yet to be played and yet to be decided on by the FA.
All Stars F.C of Ogbaru were ruthless against Okpuno’s Johnpaul, beating the latter by three goals to one as Emmyking FC, Nsugbe managed to slip one past Big-T FC of Umunya to pip them by one goal to nil while Ogbaru’s Sanky FC lost 2-3 against Nnewi United.
The 2022 Neros Pharmaceuticals Anambra FA Cup continues on next Tuesday as the teams take a break and prepare for the task ahead.
