Nigeria Professional Football League side, Enyimba F.C has been crowned the champions of the 2021/2022 Abia States FA Cup after defeating league and local rival Abia Warriors on Wednesday.
Samuel Kalu scored the only goal in the 58th minute of the final match when Sadiq Abubakar stole the man from the Abia Warriors’ goalkeeper to give him an assist.
Abia Warriors made several attempts to find the back of the net towards the end of the encounter including Valentine Odoh’s shot that hit the crossbar but were unsuccessful as The People’s Elephant ran off with a 1-0 victory to clinch the title.
Both Enyimba International and Abia Warriors will represent the state at the finals of the National AITEO Cup later in the year.
