Bendel Insurance FC Feeders,Wednesday began the Nigeria Football Federation’s Challenge Cup competition tagged ‘Aiteo Cup 2022’ on an impressive note as they defeated FMC FC of Kogi state by a lone goal to book a place in the round of 64 of the nation’s oddest football competition.
Bendel Insurance FC Feeders attacking mildfieder Towo Eventus scored the only goal of the match at 63rd minute with a beautiful header set up by Osemudiamen Kennedy’s fine corner kick from the left flank.
Insurance Feeders and Federal Medical Centre Football Club of Kogi (FMC) had laboured to a goalless draw in the first half of the game at the UNEC Stadium, Enugu state,with several scoring chances missed by the young Benin Arsenals.
According to the old fixtures, the young Benin Arsenals now have Dannaz FC of Lagos as their next opponents in the round of 64, scheduled to hold in Ilorin on Saturday 30th of July, 2022. Kickoff time is 2:00PM.
The Coach Stanley Osazee led Insurance Feeders are debutants in the Aiteo Cup competition. They defeated B.J Foundation FC 1-0 and Eagle Wings FC 5-4(shootout) in the quarter finals and semi finals respectively of Edo FA Cup last month to qualify along with their senior brothers who are champions of the competition in Edo state.
Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance FC senior team and Katsina Utd junior team round of 64 tie in the Aiteo Cup competition has been rescheduled to hold in Abuja on Sunday,July 31,2022. Kickoff time is 4:00PM.
