Aigbogun Sends U-20 AFCON Programme To NFF

Youth national team, Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun has revealed that he has sent his programme for the 2019 African U-20 Cup of Nations to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and only awaiting approval.

Aigbogun told sports247.ng he will have to get a response from the NFF for him to know when the team resume camp, ahead of the competition in Niger Republic.

He also shot a look back at his side’s runners-up spot at he recent West Africa Football Union (WAFU) U-20 Cup in Lome, Togo and stressed that his players learnt valuable lessons playing at the competition.

Aigbogun said his target had been to emerge tops in Lome, but insists it was a learning curve for his players, as he went with a largely experimental squad.

“I would have loved to win the competition after getting to the final, but I am sure the loss will fuel enthusiasm to succeed among the players.

“We will work on all the errors we noticed in Lome, and we will work hard to impact all the corrections for the U20 AFCON next year.”
