Aigbogun Admits Flying Eagles’ Selection Headache

Nigeria’s youth national team, Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigogun has admitted he is facing selection headache in choosing his squad for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

Although the team will not line out at the championship in Niger Republic until early next year, Aigbogun is already getting worried over how he will make the right choices.

The former Enyimba of Aba and Warri Wolves coach admitted as much in an interview with sports247.ng on Monday, during which he acknowledged that the task before him is not easy.

However, while admitting that it is not a mean feat in selecting the right p;layers that should make Nigeria proud in the country’s return to the African youth contest, Aigbogun said he is working hard to make it a successful expedition ahead of him.

The British-born tactician stressed: “It is not easy making the right choices for the forthcoming championship in Niger Republic.

“In fact, I am having issues keeping players and dropping some, as I aim to make the final selection, because there’re a lot of them.

“In fact, there are a lot of them that were good in the first phase of the open camp trial in Abuja.

“However, we will now be taking a break. That will give us time to relax and refresh our brains, after which I’ll make my decisions in the next phase of the camping.”
