Former CSKA Moscow, Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa has said that the Super Eagles of Nigeria don’t know much about Sierra Leone National team, but he remained confident that the Super Eagles will defeat them on Friday(13th, Nov 2020) when the two teams square off.
The Super Eagles will continue their campaign to make it to the next AFCON in Cameroon when they lock horns against the Leone Stars.
The first meeting will be hosted by Nigeria at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, while the reverse fixture is slated for Freetown National Stadium in Sierra Leone on Tuesday (17th Nov 2020).
Ahmed Musa said “It is true, we don’t know much of the Sierra Leone national team, but we have resolved to play our best game to beat them at our home and away. Two victories over them will give us the AFCON ticket, so we won’t joke with the games”.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed that the two matches will be played behind closed doors, so as to maintain the directives due to the current Covid 19 pandemic.
Ahmed Musa said playing without the supporters is a massive blow to the team, but promised that the team will do everything possible to win both matches.
Musa said ” Playing without our ever-supportive fans at the newly refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium will affect our game in Benin City and Freetown. It’s quite a pity that Edo fans will miss the opportunity of seeing us play live because of the pandemic but we shall try to win for them”.
The Match will be played on Friday by 5 pm (Nigerian time).
