The organizers of the Ahlan Cup and the technical crew of Lobi stars on Friday morning visited Government Secondary School Kofar Nasarawa, Kano state to encourage the students that academics can go with sports.
Coach Ogunbote had the honour of engaging the Senior secondary 3 class on career guidance and counselling before taking them on mathematics.
“I must commend the organizers of Ahlan Cup for such innovation.
It is commendable that every edition gives way for improvement and a new innovation and I am glad to be part of it”
Ogunbote who is a graduate of Mathematics/statistics from the Yaba College of Technology Lagos showed mastery of the subject as he got a standing ovation from the staff and principal of the school who were observers during the lecture.
The principal Ahlaji Muhammad Gabasawa was excited and thankful that his school was among the privileged school picked.
“This visit gave us courage and motivation that our students can be the best in whatever course they decide to chart in life.
My target is to make sure that the standard of the school improves academically and also make progress in sports”
The principal also used the opportunity to thank the organizers of the Ahlan Cup most especially the sponsor Dr Rabiu Inuwa (Ahlan) and would be open to donation of sports kits & equipment to the school in the nearest future.
The Ahlan Cup is the most important preseason tournament in Nigeria in her 3rd edition with 16 teams participating and Kano Pillars as the defending champion.
